A new decade is fast approaching, which is leaving many people, firstly with a sense of relief that the end of the year is upon us! But also with a sense of renewal, new opportunities, new adventures, fresh starts. It’s hard to believe that we’re in a time when someone refers to the “twenties” won’t mean the 1920’s anymore (anyone else have grandparents that were born in the 1920’s?) and it’s clear that we’re heading into a time where time itself seems to be speeding up and time for the little enjoyments in life seem harder to prolong. How are you making sure your health & wellness don’t get left behind in the speeding up process? We know, that when the work year needs to be wrapped up, Christmas presents and preparations sorted, family and friends wined and dined, not that much time is left to enjoy this little breather between the two decades. Use this year end opportunity to pause, consider how well you’re looking after yourself, how you can refuel amidst the madness, how you can fully enjoy the holiday festivities and together we can explore taking charge of our health and wellness, with an outlook towards a happier, healthier upcoming decade.

I can feel you rolling your eyes already. The “new year, new me” mantra has been used so many times in the last two decades, but it’s a popular saying for a reason. I’m not a fan of anyone tossing aside the personal development work done over the past decade; it's important to consider that you’re on your own individual journey, and you’re exactly where you need to be right now. The changeover into the new decade gives us the chance to take stock of the things we’d like to nurture and develop, like our core competencies, as well as the things we’d like to minimise or do less of. Go ahead and wrap up this year with all the good things in mind that you would like to carry with you into the new era as well as the things you're happy to leave behind.
Setting New Health & Wellness Goals For Yourself
From there, you can look at the ways you’ll need to go about amplifying the things contributing to your wellness, and then ultimately work on a plan to start to tackle the things on the negative side of the spectrum. You may well find yourself setting brand new life goals for yourself, which may well end up being a very positive catalyst in your life. Use this as an opportunity to look at the things that you want to change, and perhaps it’ll even lead to you finding new projects and hobbies related to the changes, which may surprise you. This will not only facilitate good health and wellness, but gives us a change to look at our overall happiness a lot more holistically than previously.
